Mindy you have a big responsibility on your srhelduos and you are doing a fantastic job. I know that you have to be extra, extra careful but by the sound of your descriptions it does sound like he is vomiting may be due to his cold. My tube feeder does the exact same thing at the slightest cold symptoms. What I usually have to do is mix half formula and half Pedialyte as her tube feed for the first day/night. Then I progressively add more and more formula until she is back on track in usually about 2-3 days. Having a pillow wedge or something to keep him more up-right during his feeds is also very helpful especially during a cold.It is also common for children with reflux to have puking with colds. I have been wondering if his night wakings might have anything to do with reflux. Sometimes it is not as visible through vomiting or spitting up but can still cause tummy aches or burn at night and thus sleeplessness. I guess it is always a consideration for a tube feeder as it is a very common ailment for them to get.I hope he feels better soon!

You get acid reflux bcuease of tight muscles in your back pressing onto the nerves going to the stomach to cause it to release more gastric acid which backs up into your throat. While throwing up you would have gotten rid of the acid in your stomach which was causing a burning sensation and you could have ended up unpinching the muscles that were giving you the pressure on the nerves to make the whole process stop, so the answer would be yes.

I actually had some very sevree heartburn a few months back. I tried everything, even most of the heartburn home remedies listed above. Cinnamon and water did not work. Baking soda didnt work. I even tried the can of beer, which made my heartburn even worse. I actually thought I was doomed and destined to never cure heartburn and live with it forever. My doctor had even told me that acid reflux is a lifetime condition and that there was no cure. I randomly came across and ad one day while trying to find some acid reflux home remedies online and came across this book, Heartburn No More. This book took the holistic approach and sounded very appealing. I had nothing to lose so I bought the book and followed the program to the tee. I was really blown away by the fact that in approx 20 days since I started applying the dietary and cleansing principals outlined in the book, my acid reflux was completely cured. The burning sensation, the chest pain, the bloating and the constant burping have completely disappeared. It really feels like magic. Im telling you, try Heartburn No More, you wont be disappointed.VA:F [1.9.8_1114]please wait...VA:F [1.9.8_1114](from 0 votes)

Have u been checked for chnroe's (sp?) disease and if you have they may have put the tube inside your intestine's where you don't have the inflammation. Not to be gross, but if they come in from behind, they can only go so far and if they go thru your mouththey run into the same problem. Doctors can be arrogant, but my cousin and one of my friends have chnroe's. I have no idea where you live, but my cousin who is very young- he was diagnosed at the age of 11- has had wonderful care at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. There is also the Mayo clinic- they have a couple locations. Here are two websites for you to check out and enter in your symptoms- they might be able to help guide you to the right doctor or hispital, The Doctor site is really anazubg and Kinda fun and really fascinating. Good luch and u r in my prayers, I have deakt with pain all over my body for over 2 years and I know how it can destroy things. Keep me posted thru email , if u like. It can be hard, depressing and scarry facing tons of tests and NEVER let a doctor convince you that your pain is in your head. That happens to a lot of women- docs think they are hysterical and if they can't figure it out0 they end up blaming you. Don't fall for it- Keep looking for answers and aagain- I have researched a lot of things medically- so feel free to bug me. Hope All goes well and it's just some bacteria they haven't found E

It feels like I've swallowed a brinung coal. The perceived chest pains are just your body's way of saying take a teaspoon or two of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate). The bicarb will neutralize the acid and provide relief. But you will burp the gas (CO2). You also may need to get on a proton pump inhibitor. It depends on the severity of your symptoms and Dr.s' advice.Staying away from foods that cause the problem will help too. This part is something that you "learn as you go".

Three part answer inrifmatoon, what not to do, and what to do!INFORMATION!!!!!! have had had all the above mostly more often then you point out. I have a very severe case of Acid Reflux (G.E.R.D.). I have had to go to the hospital for some of the heartburn that I have had because the pain can become overwhelming or your breathing can be effected. The good thing about G.E.R.D. is that it can be a temporary thing and can be cured. It is never a permit thing even if you end up with it for the rest of your life it has the ability to be cured.WHAT NOT TO DO!!!!!!!!In most cases, stress is a factor to the reflux if you watch what you eat and reduce some of the stress it will help. If you watch what you eat for about a week you should find relief, if you do not then that is when you definitely what to listen to the doctor. Things to watch for are as follows:Fatty FoodsCitrus FoodsFoods That Contain GreaseFried FoodsChocolateCaffeineSmokingAlcoholTomato Based ProductsWHAT TO DO!!!!The two foods that I recommend is Black strap Molasses and Raw honey. The apple is better for night time reflux while these will work for just about all of it. What you will do is take about a tsp. of whatever one you chose. Molasses being the better because of strength and nutrition, but must be use to the taste. What the substance will do is stick to the sides of the esophagus and do two things, one is heal and the other is protect. On the healing end, both substances have a healing property in them, and as they sit on the walls of the esophagus they will heal it. This is also helpful if you have a sore throat in the morning from refluxing. On the protection end, both substances are high in sugar and when acid that is refluxed comes up to that the sugar will neutralize it and it will not longer be a problem at that point. I would also look to putting Cinnamon in you diet, it has been know to help with digestion and will help you reduce the amount of acid needed to brake down food, therefore causing you to reflux less.VA:F [1.9.8_1114]please wait...VA:F [1.9.8_1114](from 0 votes)

could be milk and dairy that caused it .try ditichng any milk and dairy products for a few days and see if it recurrs . lactose intolerance will produce acid reflux, achy bones, bloating and constipation, excessive belching, excessive gas, ribbony and stringy shaped stools, wet f*arting (sorry, no other way to put it) . in the meantime, put a teaspoon full of baking soda into a mug full of warm water, stir up and drink up be prepared to belch loudly and for the pain to increase a little for a few minutes but it will realkalise your system and quell the pain for you .. baking soda does contain an awful lot of processed salt so it wouldn't be appropriate if you have high blood pressure . otherwise, only use it as a temporary measure and try to pinpoint what is causing the bad digestion bad digestion is the source of your acid reflux.peace baby♥

If we offered you a marlcie remedy that cures and prevents "Gastritis" would you buy it? Certainly you would. You won’t find it in a Pharmacy but at the Grocery Store.Try the Natural Cures for Gastritis.Gastritis is an inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It is a troublesome condition which may lead to many complications including ulcers if not treated in time. Constipation aggravates the condition more than any other disorder. The inflammatory lesions may be either acute erosive gastritis or chronic atrophic gastritis. The latter type has been found to be present in half the patients suffering from severe iron deficiency anaemia.Symptoms: The main symptoms of gastritis are loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, headache and dizziness. There is also pain and a feeling of discomfort in the region of the stomach. In more chronic cases, there is a feeling of fullness in the abdomen, especially after meals. The patient complains of heartburn. Prolonged illness often results in the loss of weight, anaemia and occassional haemorrhage from the stomach. There may be an outpouring of mucus and a reduction in the secretion of hydrochloric acid during acute attacks and also in most cases of chronic gastritis.Causes: The most frequent cause of gastritis is a dietetic indiscretion such as habitual overeating, eating of badly combined or improperly cooked foods, excessive intake of strong tea, coffee or alcoholic drinks, habitual use of large quantities of condiments, sauces, etc. It may sometimes follow certain diseases such as measles, diptheria, influenza, virus pneumonia, etc. Most often it also results from worry, anxiety, grief and prolonged tension. Use of certain drugs, strong acids, and caustic substances may also give rise to gastritis.Treatment: The patient should undertake a fast in both acute and chronic cases of gastritis. In acute cases, the patient will usually recover after a short fast of two or three days. In chronic condition, the fast may have to be continued for a longer period of seven days or so. In the alternative, short fasts may be repeated at an interval of one or two months, depending on the progress being made. The fast may be conducted on fruit juices. By fasting, the intake of irritants is at once effectively stopped, the stomach is rested and the toxic condition, causing the inflammation, is allowed to subside. Elimination is increased by fasting and the excess of toxic matter accumulated in the system is thrown out. After the acute symptoms subside, the patient should adopt an all-fruit diet for further three days. Juicy fruits such as apple, pear, grapes, grapefruit, orange, pineapple, peach and melon may be taken during this period at five-hourly intervals. The patient can thereafter gradually embark upon a well-balanced diet of three basic food groups, namely: (i) seeds, nuts and grains, (ii) vegetables, and (iii) fruits on the following lines :Upon arising: A glass of lukewarm water with freshly squeezed lemon and spoonful of honey.Breakfast: Fresh fruits, such as apples, orange, banana, grapes, grapefruit or any available berries, a handful of raw nuts and a glass of milk.Mid-morning snack: One apple, banana, or any other fruit.Lunch : Steamed vegetables, two or three slices of whole meal bread or whole wheat chappatis, according to the appetite and a glass of butter milk.Mid-afternoon: A glass of fresh fruit or vegetable juice or sugarcane juice.Dinner: A large bowl of fresh salad of green vegetables such as tomatoes, carrots, red beets, cabbage, cucumber with dressing of lemon juice and cold-pressed vegetable oil, all available sprouts such as alfalfa seeds mung beans, fresh butter and fresh home-made cottage cheese.Bedtime snacks: A glass of fresh milk or one apple. The patient should avoid the use of alcohol, nicotine, spices, and condiments, flesh foods, chillies, sour things, pickles, strong tea and coffee. He should also avoid sweets, pastries, rich cakes and aerated waters. Curds and cottage cheese should be used freely. Carrot juice in combination with the juice of spinach is considered highly beneficial in the treatment of gastritis. 200 mL of spinach juice should be mixed with 300 ml. of carrot juice in this combination. Too many different foods should not be mixed at the same meal. Meals should be taken at least two hours before going to bed at night. 8 to 10 glasses of water should be taken daily, but water should not be taken with meals as it dilutes the digestive juices and delays digestion. And above all, haste should be avoided while eating and meals should be served in a pleasing and relaxed atmosphere.Coconut water is an excellent food remedy for gastritis. It gives the stomach necessary rest and provides vitamins and minerals. The stomach will be greatly helped in returning to its normal condition if nothing except coconut water is given during the first 24 hours. Rice gruel is another effective remedy in acute cases of gastritis. In chronic cases where the flow of gastric juice is meager, such foods as require prolonged vigorous mastication will be beneficial as this induces a greater flow of gastric juices. From the commencement of the treatment, a warm water enema should be used daily, for about a week, to cleanse the bowels. If constipation is habitual, all steps should be taken for its eradication. The patient should be given daily a dry friction and sponge bath. Application of heat, through hot compressor or hot water bottle twice in the day either on an empty stomach or two hours after meals should also prove beneficial. The patient should not undertake any hard physical and mental work. He should, however, undertake breathing and other light exercises like walking, swimming, and golf. He should avoid worries and mental tension.Hope this helps, Good Luck.
